Manuel gained a PhD in Bioengineering Systems from MIT Portugal in 2021 where he developed artificial scaffolds for the affinity separation of biomolecules. Following his studies, Manuel has specialized in downstream processing development of antibodies, recombinant proteins, and viral vectors.
